Rev. Slobodan Spasic, Parish Priest
Fr. Slobodan Spasić was born on August 2, 1966 in Zenica, Bosnia. He finished elementary school in his birthplace and in 1981 he enrolled in the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Prizren, Kosovo-Metohia, under the direction of future †His Holiness Patriarch Pavle. After completing seminary in 1986, he enrolled in the St. Sava Theological Seminary in Belgrade, Serbia, where he studied until 1989. After completing one year of seminary studies in Belgrade, Fr. Slobodan continued his studies at the St. Sava School of Theology in Libertyville, Illinois, where he attended from 1989 to 1992.
On July 23, 1994, Fr. Slobodan was united in marriage with Vida Milić from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In October of that same year, he was ordained a deacon at St. Nikola Serbian Orthodox Church in Cudahy, Wisconsin and to the rank of priest on November 1994, by His Eminence Metropolitan Sava, at St. Stephan of Dečani Serbian Orthodox Church. After his ordination, Fr. Slobodan was appointed as the parish priest of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, South St. Paul, Minnesota, in January 1995.
